A Coming Out Story

Amach is a short animation following the story of an LGBTQ+ person coming out to their friends and family.
The animation features Eve, our protagonist, who is a closeted lesbian, and the creature that follows her around. Her creature is a physical manifestation of her fears of coming out as her true self, which she will learn to accept throughout the animation.
The animation will feature resources at the end that a person identifying as LGBTQ+ can look into for help if they want to come out themselves. It is a demonstration of the fears and anxieties that come with telling your loved ones about your true self.

About me!

My name is Alex, and I am the creator of this project. For me, coming out was an extremely scary thing to do. I was lucky enough to have endless support through my family and friends that I told, but I know others who weren't as lucky. I created Amach as a way to express the anxieties of coming out and how daunting it feels, and I wanted to include resources to help others who maybe need a hand telling their own loved ones. I love creating, and I hope to continue to create meaningful projects such as this one even after my time in DkIT.
